In this collection I tried to combine two contrasts – men and women fashion. I borrowed some design elements from men fashion like shoulder straps and collars from old uniforms and mixed it into the more the more feminine style.
In production these male elements should be from wool and clear-cut in contrast to smooth silk and muslin, which is nice to use for dresses and give a deep feminine feeling.

The inspiration for this collection was the Lithuanian National Costumes.
I analyzed 5 different Lithuanian regions suvalkija, dzūkija, žemaityja, klaipėdos kraštas and aukštaitija, where their traditional costumes are very different – even colors and ornaments are very different.
For every individual dress I combined several aspects from the National Costumes into one dress and tried to bring new insiration into something very traditional. So every single dress below has got several hints to the 5 regions National Costumes – some of them even got touches from all 5 in one dress.

The Ballet
The inspiration for this collection was the ballet.
The costumes were specially created for the stage. The main part of every costume is tutu (ballet tutu), which is also used as an inspiration for even the collar. The most suitable fabric for these sketches is stiff organza, which will make a beautiful play with the light. The costume should also be decorated with handmade embroidery.
